Measurement Tech
Summary
This position maintains gas/liquid meters, regulators and relief valves, RTU & SCADA equipment and related communication equipment, GC and gas analyzers, valves and valve operators, gas filters, and auxiliary equipment such as electrical generating systems in a manner to meet operational needs in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Essential duties and responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The essential job duties for this position are listed below:
- Maintain and operate facilities in compliance with applicable specifications, codes, safety standards and operating procedures.
- Perform all related gas measurement calibrations and maintenance for orifice plate meters, ultrasonic meters, EFM, gas chromatograph, H2S analyzer, H2O Analyzer, O2 Analyzer and PLCs.
- Install instrumentation and equipment in new and renovated measurement and/or regulation facilities.
- Inspect and maintain all pressure and volumetric control equipment.
- Collect gas samples in compliance with partnership safety and industry guidelines.
- Witness meter performance verifications as performed by third party contractors/customers, as needed.
- Maintain, operate, troubleshoot and repair measurement equipment, including meters, samplers, flow computers and other peripheral measurement-related and communications devices.
Required Education
- High school diploma or GED.
Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level
- Level C requires a minimum of 0 - 2 years of relevant experience in a midstream operations role or equivalent work experience.
- Level B requires a minimum of 2 - 4 years of relevant experience in a midstream operations role or equivalent work experience.
- Level A requires a minimum of 4+ years of relevant experience in a midstream operations role or equivalent work experience.
Required Qualifications
- Detailed knowledge of applicable MPMS, AGA, API, CFR and GPA requirements and procedures.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must possess valid driver’s license and meet company insurability requirements
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays and respond to call outs
- Knowledge and experience in safe handling practices of flammable gases, liquid, and high/low pressure systems and follow Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and fluency in English is required
Preferred Qualifications
- PC skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel.
- Communication Software skills including RocLink and PCCU.
- Some college or technical trade school is preferred.
Working Conditions

- Lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Driving, walking, standing frequently.
- Exposure to adverse weather, cramped conditions and some heavy lifting
Visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment. - Occasional overnight travel may be required.
